BIKE WEEK: DIY bike seat cover

The always-fabulous Who Cares Girl just made herself a totally fluorescent bike seat cover, using an Instructable for her guide..

The idea is pretty basic. Trace your bike seat onto newspaper (somehow, that Who Cares Girl even manages to make newspaper fashionable):

Cut a seat-shaped swatch of fabric (hideousness not required but it really helps):

Cut some other hideous, stretchy fabric (recommended: sparkly pink Spandex) for the bottom thingie:

Put it on your bike.

The Who Cares Girl says “Voila! A happy little seat cover.” I couldn’t agree more.

Obviously, I skipped some details. Here are the real instructions (WARNING: “safe” fabric choices ahead):
