Angela Johnson turns t-shirts into fun retro-style creations. She also does custom orders which come with a warning:
“Sense of humor included.”
Like her MY GIRLFRIEND IS OUT OF TOWN ball gown:
Angela quilts the shirts into a solid fabric before tracing and cutting the pattern. Which is an innovative and new (to me, at least) idea that expands what’s possible for upcycled tees beyond the basic box shape.

I love it, I want a t-shirt ballgown. And you’re right, this is a (logical but) inventive way to use t-shirts! I bet it looks really cool… makes my creative mind sparkle too.
Now if only I had $400 for that BALLGOWN
Awesome! I want to try…
If only I had some place to wear a ballgown! I loved the retro vibe the models have. But I’m sure you could change the mood with different styling. She’s pretty talented and working with what she gots. Taking care of a parent and living in Arizona, as I understand it.
wow. nice.
this was similar to the reason that i went to fashion design school. this kind of spirit.
I hope she keeps it up.
