If you live in SF, you may have seen or heard about this amazing laser cat mural:
“Kittenzilla” was painted by some occasional cohorts of mine: Bunnie Reiss and Ezra Li Eismont, with my non-cohort Garrison Buxton. They painted the entire thing on Wednesday, and by Thursday they were Internet famous.
Bunnie says:
The idea was inspired by the piece we did for Gallery Heist. We decided to continue with the theme of kittens and supersize them as if they were destroying a city.
We were not funded for this project, but rather grateful to be given a wall and the opportunity to paint something so fun.
The mural is acrylic latex and spray enamel, 8′x16′. You can find it at 616 Divisadero, next to the Independent.
Here are some shots of the work in progress:
And a couple of Ezra Li’s favorite details:
Well done, kids. Thanks for making the world a little bit funner.

I’m no art expert, but I love cats (and The Independent), and I have to say this piece touches me in places that would make the Uffizi jealous. And I must say your cohorts and their friend are amazingly beautiful.
