Last week in Ask A Planetary Shaman, reader Kevin left a series of compelling questions. The essence of which, was
How do we connect the dots is what I am asking? What is a good focus point when starting to work towards financial independence?
This is a practical fellow! He isn’t waiting for a fairy godmother! I’ll follow up with some practical advice.
Here it is -
In order to be reconnected to your own source of abundance (including money abundance) you will do well to stop “leaking” it from your current level of energy.
How?
By finding “places” in your life where you are feeding your own energy to the old ways of thinking about yourself and your surroundings.
Ask yourself questions such as: Do I really need to have the house I think I need to have in order to be happy? Do I really need to have credit cards I have?
Do I really need to take all those classes, go to those concerts, buy all those things that I think I need to have in order to appear to other people as a certain kind of a person? Do I need the car I have?
Do I need the relationships I have? Do I need to take my coffee the way I take it;
Or – IS THERE ANOTHER AND BETTER WAY TO DO ALL THOSE THINGS?
To disconnect the old paradigms and stop your own energy from leaking, ask yourself the same question over and over again – DOES THIS MAKE ME HAPPY? And if it doesn’t, STOP DOING IT!!!
Every time you do something that does not make you happy you lose tremendous amounts of energy and therefore have very little energy left to invest in new creations, including new ways of creating financial health.
Nitty-gritty time; Here’s your homework -
For the next several months, try to save at least ten cents of energy, literally and symbolically, each day, and you will feel results very, very soon. It is that simple — In order to have more energy one must already have some energy; if you have no energy surplus how can you create?
This is exactly why so many people find themselves trapped and unable to quit their old jobs or tell their vampirical friends to back away from their lives – because they have very little “seed-energy” to do it with. So, create your seed-energy and start saving ten cents a day of your own vital essence.
The bottom line is – INVEST YOURSELF ONLY IN THOSE THINGS IN LIFE THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY!!! STOP DOING THINGS THAT DON’T WORK – THESE ARE ENERGY SUCKERS!!!
Ten cents at a time will be your creative capital to go forward into your new life.

Excellent advice, and I personally promise to follow it. Or at least try. Thanks Professora Z!
Awesome advice. I forget that I need to save time and energy for myself. If I have excess, I’m willing to spend it on anything my friends ask me to do. Telling vampirical friends to back away is something I’m working on, and the results are amazing. All I need is a little distance to breathe and nourish myself, and all is well. Just have to keep whittling away at the right boundaries. Thanks Professora Z!
Disclaimer- I’ve known the dear Professora for several years, and I must say, this is how she got the life wherein no malice is borne even to oneself.
“I wanted to save energy (after Chernyobyl) to save the planet. So I decided to wake when the sun rises and go quiet with the sunset. Then I found a way to work around this. Everything else came true.”
Also, ‘living the life you love’ most assuredly does NOT preclude frivolous extravagance. Professora loves getting massages and picking up checks, for instance.
@Magikspells, me too. @TheHun, Me too.
….and, done.
Just detached a psychological leech and put a hefty payday into my Creative Capital account. It hurt, but felt good, like in the old Amazon River movies.
I could see how someone with very straight ahead, mainstream thinking might respond with a WTF? However, it makes sense to me. For instance, I LOVE coffee. Love Espresso. I Seek it out when I’m tired and overwhelmed and no, I can’t really afford it and tend to overdo it. Controlling my urge to caffenate and using it more sparingly as a reward or treat in sane quantities would be in line with what I hear the Professora advocating. Nice!
My question: How to bank energy and keep up with children!?! So awesome and SO taxing! Full time parenting on a super tight budget with sponge like, all seeing, gregarious children – WOOT, frizzle, frazzle, phtphtphtphtpht …
typing one handed as the 2 year old she-hulk (in the best way) awakes. 5 year old mastermind assembles spaceships while asking about EVERYTHING and all is pretty good really. But pointers, suggestions, insights for shepherding, facilitating and orchestrating new minds introduction & orientation to this exciting & beautiful, ugly & tricky world?
Thanks for responding… Currently not able to come up with any practical response to your thoughts. I will sit back and think on them for awhile. You have a great talent for simplifying things and giving good advice. Thanks.
